My students come from all over the Philadelphia area. We are a growing charter school with over 600 students in grades K-8. Last year our school experienced a tragic fire and we lost everything. This is our year to rebuild. We are now in a wonderful new building and are trying to get back into the swing of daily school life. The students in my classroom are all from a low socioeconomic background. Many of them do not have books at home to read, so I provide an opportunity for them to check out books from the classroom library to take home. Since the fire we have been able to rebuild our library. Only one area is lacking, our listening library.
