My middle school students are thoughtful, funny, creative, and curious. As a special education teacher, I support students with disabilities who bring many strengths, interests, learning styles, and communication styles to our classroom. Many are also multilingual learners who work hard to build academic vocabulary while mastering challenging concepts. Our school serves a diverse community where many families face financial barriers that can limit access to books, hands-on materials, and enrichment opportunities. My students thrive when learning is visual, interactive, collaborative, and connected to their interests. They love experiments, games, graphic novels, manga, art, and working with classmates. My goal is to create a welcoming classroom where every student has the tools and encouragement to participate, advocate for themselves, build meaningful connections, and recognize their own potential.
