Our public high school is full of bright, motivated, highly creative students, but they pay out of pocket for nearly all the extracurricular activities they enjoy. The yearbook relies entirely on advertising and book sales (as well as generous donations) to create and print the book, and for the past several years we've seen shortfalls in the thousands of dollars. We're also a very small group; last year's book was created largely by five very dedicated students. Even when we do attempt fundraisers, we simply can't compete with larger groups like athletics or the arts.
