Our community is high poverty and ethnically diverse. Our students are close to giving up hope if they are not able to participate in a literate world very soon. The students are very sweet and the parents are concerned, but many parents are working 2 jobs and others are ill-equipped to provide academic support so the job of the school is that much more critical for these students.
