Our Journalism class focus this year is "coverage". We want to make every student feel like they're a part of the community we document. In the past, coverage of large events and sports, especially outdoor sports, has been limited by our inability to capture great pictures. We currently have two Canon digital SLR camera with standard lenses. Adding this telephoto lens will help us capture the action in outdoor sports and help us document that part of our community. Our current lenses work fine in close-up situations. With the new lens, our photojournalists can capture great action, but from the sidelines. We will be able to document the skills of outdoor athletes, and also capture those wonderful moments from outdoor events that are usually lost. Our local, professional camera shop helped us choose this equipment.
