My students are curious, thoughtful, and eager to learn. They attend a classical charter school where we emphasize habits of civic and moral virtue, wonder, and careful observation as the foundation of all learning. In kindergarten, we begin forming these habits through rich stories, read-alouds, and hands-on exploration of the world around us. Our school serves a diverse community in a town with a high Hispanic population, and many of my students are bilingual or are learning English alongside their academic studies. They bring a vibrant mix of experiences, languages, and perspectives into the classroom each day. These young learners thrive when given access to engaging, high-quality books that help them connect language to the world they see. They are excited by science, nature, and discovery, and they benefit greatly from resources that nurture both their curiosity and their developing academic language.
