The items that we would love for our classroom will be used for literacy centers and whole group activities. We know that most students are not proficient in reading and fall behind by a grade level or more. I want to ensure that my students are learning to read, write, and express themselves. I do not want them to fall behind. I want to ensure that I am nurturing young readers and writers. Our students will be able to write with the boogie boards in whole group activities (literacy or mathematics) without waiting to utilize a board, compose sentences with magnetic tiles, recognize and recall sight words through a fun fishing activity, and learn how to write complete sentences. All of these materials will help to advance students in various areas such as communication, reading, word recognition, letter recognition, fine motor skills, and phonological awareness.
