100% of my 2nd grade students are English learners. For many of them the only English speaking models they encounter are at school. Their parents work hard to get their kids to school, and they put their trust in the school to get their kids to grade level. These 7 and 8 year-olds are motivated, curious, smart and hardworking, but need practicing English to be a little more fun.
