My students come from many parts of the world, speak many languages, and have diverse experiences in formal education. These 7 year-old children are very kind to one another; they work together to create an equitable learning environment in the classroom. My students attend a small, public school in Northern California, where some are driven many miles to get to school each morning. Students in my class love learning with hands-on materials where they can make discoveries, then talk, read and write about those discoveries.
