My class is dedicated hard working Seventh Graders in the Chicago Public School System. 98% percent of our school is poverty stricken and enrolled in the free lunch program. When they first came to me at the beginning of the year many students responded to their initial survey as not caring to read. When pressed for details why, most responded, it is too hard to get a good book.
