My students are tactile learners. They like to see and touch science. I often have them build simple projects that express a physics principle from simple supplies. My students are eager to learn and understand that due to budget limitations and no lab equipment we have to be "creative" in exploring the world. My students study hard because they want to go to college and start on the right path towards a career. After I ask each one what he or she wants to study I tell them how physics relates to that specific profession and they see how their world connects to the bigger picture. With so much at stake and their futures in the balance they know that we have to take advantage of every opportunity that comes our way in order to learn and grow as individuals and as a community.
