My students are the lowest poverty income students. My student population is mostly Hispanic and African American and has a high population of bi-lingual ESL students. Despite this, I have seen an incredible drive to persevere. They work hard and unfortunately receive little. There is no money for field trips or to even have a working theatre. They are often disappointed but the staff assures them that they can do great things and we have seen great results. I'd just like to see them get something tangible they could actually use in the classroom. These kids are truly deserving.
