My 3rd graders are growing up in one of the poorest, most violent cities in the entire country, and they want a better future for themselves. 100% of them come from low-income families. They LOVE reading, enthusiastically talk about growing their brains through hard work, and are always ready to tackle a challenge. They are curious, bright, and not afraid to speak their minds. The school culture is wonderful - the teachers are dedicated, positive role models, and students feel safe here. School is a source of happiness and positivity in these students' lives; some don't want to leave at the end of the day because they enjoy being at school so much.

About my class
