We are a very busy first grade class of 23! We hit the ground learning each day using sight words, reading grade level appropriate text, as well as engaging in math skills such as addition and subtraction. My dream is that all of my students would perform on grade level or above, but that isn't always the case. We will continue to reach that goal each and every day. We are a public school of over 500 students with 23 in my first grade class. We are in lower Alabama and love all things football and baseball. As any first grade class, we are busy learning all that we can and growing way to fast. My students love reading and finding various ways to solve math problems. Like many schools in our area, we lack funding and parental support to provide the necessary resources to achieve maximum learning.
