The students at my school are resilient, passionate, and hard-working learners. Most of the students travel across the city to attend our college prep style school. In the 2010-2011 school year 86% of our students qualified for free or reduced lunch. Our student body is very multicultural with most of the school comprised of African American and Hispanic students. After closing several years ago, the school has reopened with a new mission and passion for learning. We are about to begin our third year and our very first year of band. The students are incredibly excited to finally be able to study music during the school day and continue to learn their instruments.

About my class
