My current students are in grades K-8, about half of which are from the neighborhood and half are from all over Cleveland and nearby cities that are bussed in for our school’s Deaf education program. It is a very unique and rewarding population. I have learned a lot about the neighborhood, the Deaf and Hard of Hearing culture/community and ASL from them! My Deaf students are a big part of the reason I am asking for the color printer. They need visuals to help them learn skills that hearing students may not need. I usually have to ask to get color prints, but recently even that person has not been able to print in color. My hope is that by next school year the students and I will have a color printer, not only for visuals for therapy but for making copies and printing visuals and homework, as well.
