My first graders are an amazing - full of energy bunch. They are always smiling and happy to be in first grade. They love learning how to read in Spanish and English and can't wait for reading time and small group reading. I try to make every reading moment special and try to foster the love for reading at home. My students are mostly from low income immigrant families and have few reading resources at home. Our school is a Title 1 school that has been working hard to provide excellent reading programs as well as home connections. I know how important is to provide a safe and welcoming environment. I would like the library of my classroom to be the most welcoming and exiting place of all, a place were kids want to go.
