All children love playing and exploring with lights and shadows. Currently our classroom only has tiny finger flashlights which the students love to use during flashlight reading and our document camera. I want to expand the different opportunities for my students to explore light. I would love for my students to have access to a light table every day, Students will be able to use the table and materials during language arts, math, science, and developmental centers. In math, they will be able to use the table to help them have a deeper understanding of addition and subtraction by use the different manipulatives and acting out story problems In language arts, students will use the table to make snap words, matching upper and lower case letters, and matching sounds to pictures. I want to provide the letter tiles, dominoes, different counters, and numbers to expand their learning.
