Students in my class work in an L+1 environment. Where they work through thematic units and cross content learning throughout the year. Matching content across the board from math, to language arts, to science and social sciences. Students actively seek opportunities to engage in their learning and take charge of the direction of their learning. Students will be able to use presentations, discussion groups and projects to connect and showcase learning in new and inventive ways. Students will use literature as a way of growing themselves as life long learners. They will engage in reading through thematic units that pushes them to think critically outside of their comfort zones. My intent is to engage them through project based and multiage learning environments in order to expand their horizons and minds. They are such eager learners, I want as many doors open to them as possible!
