My students are such amazing people! I work at a bilingual school teaching middle school science, where the middle schoolers get half of their day in English and half of their day in Spanish, trying to get them to be truly bilingual and biliterate! With it being a smaller school, I often have the same students for 2 and sometimes even 3 years, really getting the opportunity to get to know them on a deeper level. The majority of my students are of Latino decent, and have such a diversity in their family history and stories. Familia or Family is a huge part of our school identity and it is so true, the kids aren't just my students, they are my kids as well and I love seeing how much they grow when they come back to visit!
