When you ask my students what other students should know about being in the band, they frequently say that it is challenging--but that coming together to make music is worth all of the time, effort, and hard work that they put into it. The students in the Thomas Jefferson Middle School band program come from all walks of life, but they share a commitment to learning, a passion for music, and a desire to continuously improve. More than just learning how to perform notes and rhythms, they seek performing music with such polish each person in the room feels a chill run down their spine as the final note of a piece fades away. I am asking for your help to provide the equipment and materials necessary in order to ensure that every student has the opportunity to participate in the music program, and for our program to achieve new heights of success.
