My students are such hard workers! Scholars within the special education program overcome seemingly insurmountable academic challenges on a daily basis. The majority of my students come from low-income homes and are therefore confronted with the additional challenges that living in poverty presents. My students are generally in the 10th and 11th grades and have exceptionally high aspirations. After high school, many plan to attend some of the top colleges and universities in the nation. After college my students see themselves being physicists, veterinarians, athletes, singers, and doctors. My students need a strong high school education that is capable of helping them move beyond their disabilities and achieve success.
