A day in my classroom is never boring or quiet! I am a brand new teacher learning her craft. I have 18 students who are full of energy! My class loves to interact with each other by completing group work, rotating through reading and math centers, and working on class projects.
I teach in a smaller, inner city school.
My students are very interested in pop culture and technology. They love to be rewarded for showing positive behaviors both in the classroom and around the school. All 18 have very different personalities, but all these personalities are full of energy! My students also love to help. They take a lot of pride in helping their teacher as well as others around the school.
My students will be able to use the iPad to record, film, take pictures, and create more interactive presentations. I would also love to take the iPad on our upcoming field trips with us to take pictures and record experiences. The students are familiar with tablet technology but will learn how to use it in an educational setting. Students will also learn how to connect an iPad to the computer and transfer/share information.
I think this project will help connect my students' home life to their school life.
Some of them have iPads at home, but we do not have any in our school. I would love for my students and my school to see how they can be used in an educational setting. I also think students would be more engaged in class projects if they could involve the use of sound, pictures, and videos using the iPad. Having the iPad in our room will expose the students to new ways to use technology.
