Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach fourth grade in California. In the wonderful world of writing I strive every day to teach and motivate my students to write. I am an enthusiastic teacher, teaching the subject I love most, writing and reading. I LOVE IT!

I would like to provide each of my students with their own Writing Prompts Journal to write in.

These fun-to-use journals have 30 pre-printed prompts to give writers starters. The thirty engaging prompts cover narrative, descriptive, expository and persuasive writing, with helpful tips and checklists for easy self-editing.

My Project

The journals also have writing and drawing space, word banks and more. These journals target our state standards in these areas: writing in a variety of styles, responding to prompts, and revising and editing. These journals will be educational and fun too. They will really motivate the students to write.

I would also like to provide each student with a Readers Book Log.

With these log books students complete fun activity pages for every book they read and gain a sense of accomplishment as they boost comprehension! These logs include 4 activities for up to 25 different books, including story mapping, comparing and contrasting, a book review and a page for kids to write and illustrate their thoughts. In addition each book has an 11" x 17" fold-out reading chart and over 100 stickers.
