My Students

"If we teach today as we taught yesterday, we rob our children of tomorrow. " - John Dewey. My students love to share their writing pieces with the class and they would be thrilled to have the ability to display their masterpieces with a projector.

My twenty eight wonderful third grade students attend a charter school in Delaware.

I have been teaching for ten years and have never seen the talent and enthusiasm for creative writing that this group of students display on a weekly basis. They will write for a whole class period and then listen attentively as their classmates share their writing pieces. My students truly love to learn and I love to see their enthusiasm for writing.

My Project

My students favorite subject is creative writing. They enjoy writing stories, reports,journal entries, and letters. My students would be so excited to see their work displayed by the projector. This would inspire them to take a greater pride in their work. They would be even more enthusiastic and demonstrate a greater effort while writing various pieces. My students excel in writing but they do struggle with word problems. I believe that having the projector would assist them with learning various strategies to solve word problems. Students would be motivated to solve the problems correctly so that their paper could be displayed. Students would be able to explain to the class how they solved the problem while the class is viewing their paper with the correct answer. I truly believe that I have future authors and journalists in my classroom this year. Using the Elmo along with my projector would provide for a stimulating, engaging learning experience for my students.

My students enjoy lessons with our LCD projector but they would enjoy sharing their papers with the Elmo projector even more.

Students would take greater pride in their work knowing that they would have the ability to show their paper to the class. This would increase student motivation and lead to greater achievement. I believe that with this projector students would enjoy learning, work harder, learn more, and have a greater motivation to achieve big and great things this school year.
