This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Arthur C. Clarke once said, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." Help me take my classroom into the 21st century by incorporating the magic of an iPad2.

My students have all been identified Highly Gifted.

These children have special needs not met by standard textbooks and curriculum. My students are inquisitive and thoughtful. They love to learn! Since these students tend to perform very well on standardized tests, they are often overlooked. It is up to teachers and parents to bring in as much supplemental materials as possible to stimulate their minds, encourage their exploration of new concepts, and provide them with the challenging academic setting they need to thrive.

My Project

I plan to use an Apple iPad2 to incorporate technology into my classroom. I can connect the iPad with my SmartBoard to display lessons that will allow my students to interact with the latest educational apps. Using the iPad2, my students will be able to take a 3-D tour of the human body with just a touch, or to take a virtual field trip of the Library of Congress. My students can even use the iPad2 to write and play their very own musical compositions! We will also need an iPad Smart Cover to protect the sensitive screen from curious sticky fingers when not in use.

With your help and an iPad 2, my students will interact with the latest and most engaging educational technology.

I anticipate lots of oohs and aahs as they touch the iPad and are transported to a Civil War battlefield. The iPad2 will inspire their minds to leap beyond the program to insights I could never have planned. Your support will open allow for their explorations and power their innovations.
