My Students

Think of how much enjoyment you get from reading and how much you take away from what you read, but what if you couldn't read. This is what my little ones are faced with. We are only learning to read which makes picking up just any book and reading it rather difficult, but it doesn't have to be.

Where should I begin, my little ones are enthusiastic, busy, smart, inquisitive... And, this is only the tip of the iceberg.

My little crew is so unique and special, one of the most loving little crews I have had with such big personalities. From the sidelines, you would not know that many of my little ones come from disadvantaged homes, but they do. Luckily we have a school and a district who try to give us everything we need, but there is so much more that they can't.

My Project

My little ones, as with all youngsters, love technology, which is why I want to expand our Tag collection. We have a few Tags and books, but several of them are on their last leg. Some of our Tags are no longer working and our books are starting to fall apart from constant use, which tells me that they are being used and enjoyed. These Tags offer so much more than just an ordinary book. Not only do the Tag pens read to the students, but it gives them the opportunity to test their knowledge about the book they are reading through games and other interactive activities. My students need 6 new Leapfrog Tags with headphones, batteries, 12 Leapfrog books, and 1 set of short vowel books.

By giving my students these Tags, you are giving them the opportunity to read and listen to stories when they are working on their own and don't have me at their disposal.
