This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students work very hard to produce the best quality work they can. Unfortunately, our school's budget was cut drastically this year, which means we have no more money for basic supplies. These materials will ensure that my students will continue to produce high quality work!

I teach science in the poorest congressional district in the country, and my students are very limited in the resources they can bring in from home.

Projects are an excellent way to engage my students in their learning and to motivate them to take pride in the work they produce. I don't want my students to be limited in the work they can produce simply because they don't have the basic supplies needed for their projects!

My Project

My students will be creating vivid, colorful projects to summarize all of the hard work they have done in 7th grade. These projects will be used to help teach other 7th graders in the future. In order for the projects to have the most impact, my students need construction paper, markers, and scissors.

One of the best ways I have found to get kids engaged in learning is to have other students present the material.

It means more when they hear one of their peers teach them something. These projects will be used in future years to help future 7th graders understand the fundamental concepts in science.
