My students need a kiln to fire their ceramic projects.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Larios's classroom raised $3,660

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
A typical day in my classroom begins by greeting my students at the door and students walk in and grab their folder. As the bell rings we start the class with a routine warm-up sketch of a complex ceramic work of art. Students then grab their projects from the shelves and work on their projects.
My students all live in the great state of California and are primarily Latino students.
Not all are natural born English speakers. They are your typical teenage kid. I currently have 9th through 12th grade students. Test scores are low and it is an inner city school.
My Project
A kiln is the glue to the puzzle. Without a kiln students are unable to see the process of turning green ware into bisque ware. At this point students have been able to make tiles, whistles, cookie containers, and coil pumpkins. With a fully functional kiln students will be able to even more complex assignments to intrigue their imaginations.
This donation will improve my classroom because it will ultimately save this program.
Money is slim when it comes to any art department, so any donation is appreciated. It will change my students lives for the better because they will have the opportunity to create and take home a work of art otherwise not possible without a kiln.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
