We Can't Get Enough Books!

My students need free reading books and a high-quality historical fiction text with non-fiction background books to support their understanding of the world around them.

My Students

Thanks to DonorsChoose, my students have been devouring books! I can't give them high-quality books fast enough!

I work with low income, urban students that have entered a lottery system to attend our school.

100% of our students have been accepted to a 2 or 4-year college since 1999. We expect nothing but the best from our students and they work very hard to create the future they want.

My Project

I am asking for free-reading books that my students can engage and make a connection with. I am also asking for a class text with background books so students can learn more about Birmingham - this ties directly to their history courses. As a result, students will have more background knowledge and be more prepared for their subject matter courses.

My students are beginning to love to read as much as I do.

I want to continue to foster their desire to read and interest in books. More books will help us to do so and help build stronger reading skills.
