My students need a variety of beads to make jewelry for their Occupational Course of study school-based business.

I teach high school students with special needs at an alternative school in North Carolina.

As part of the occupational coursework my class is taking, a business plan has been developed to sell bead jewelry. The plan is now ready to be implemented with the proceeds to be donated to local homeless shelters. Students are required to do a certain number of work hours to get credit for the class and this business project will help them meet this requirement. Each member of the class has a "job" to do with all of them helping to make and sell the jewelry to family, friends, and fellow students.

We need a large supply of beads and jewelry making supplies to create a variety of jewelry to sell. This project will benefit the students to meet the requirements of their occupational coursework. It will help them use skills they have learned by keeping track of inventory, developing catalogs, how to approach people, etc.

This project will make it possible for my students to not only satisfy their course requirements but to make a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
