Using Technology in the Classroom

My students need a copy machine, paper and ink to make copies of their articles and other projects they do throughout the year.

My Students

Did you ever work really hard on a project and you were so proud that you wanted to make a copy of your project to share with others? My Technology Education students are not able to make copies of their work or scan in pictures to complete projects.

I am a 4th grade general education teacher serving a high need community in a school with very dedicated teachers.

There are currently 28 students in my classroom. The community is a predominantly working class neighborhood. I teach quite an enthusiastic group of students who love to read. A third of my students are English Language Learners. My students love to laugh and learn.

My Project

The copy machine/scanner will allow my students to scan in pictures for their photography module and make copies for various other projects including building blue prints and isometric drawings. The copy machine will also allow my students to learn the basics of how a copier/scanner works. Our students would love to have readable copies of their work in order to practice at school and at home. We expect great work from our students and I know that they would give us their best in everything that they complete. This machine will allow my students to make duplicates of projects that we work on and allow them to learn about how a scanner works. This will provide a great opportunity for my students in several areas of the classroom.

Everyone wants to go paperless these days, the only problem is that work we are mandated to do with our students is delivered to us on our computers, but we have to teach the students with paper and pencil.
