My students need 5 iPod Touch devices to use in a learning center in order to enhance comprehension in math and literacy and to improve content knowledge in all areas.

My Students

Help us engage in multi-sensory learning experiences! Help us become technologically proficient! We have all seen the amazing commercials featuring the Apple magic! Help bring the magic into our room!

My diverse student body is made up of 24 young 4th graders.

They attend a public school in Brooklyn, NY. We are an ICT (Integrated Co-Teaching) class, which means that some of my students learn differently in some ways and there are two teachers in our room. My students are lively, energetic, and willing to learn and grow! Some of my students do not have the access to high-tech technology that rules our world. Yet what they all possess is a willingness to take risks and adapt to the world around us. My students deserve the very best and I am committed to providing them with every possible learning opportunity that will help them grow as learners.

My Project

These 5 iPod iTouch devices will bring so many learning opportunities into our classroom. They will provide my students with key technological skills that are needed in the 21st century. We will be able to use the iTouches in groups of 5 throughout the day. The iTouches will provide a truly differentiated learning experience to each of my children. The iTouches will be a huge, huge help to my visual and auditory learners -- the engaging graphics and auditory support will help my struggling readers comprehend and process information better and even faster. My tactile learners will benefit from the apps that engage the gross and fine motor skills. My students who are significantly below grade level will benefit from all of the apps that are designed to work with struggling learners in an age-appropriate way. The iTouches will help provide enrichment opportunities to my students who need more rigorous, challenging learning experiences.

These iTouches will allow my students to experience how technology and learning are ONE. They will be engaged completely and not even know it! These children need to know that learning is not always through a textbook. iTouches will encourage their drive to learn and fuel their fire to become life-long learners.
