Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Computers are not available to our students at home which makes school the only place they can work on the publishing of the Tiger Times.

Our students are Latino and African American from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds.

They are eager to learn through the use of technology, but access is limited. We are a Pre-K - 5 public school. Tiger Times has fourth and fifth grade students.

My Project

A computer will allow them to publish the Tiger Times. Tiger Times staff learns valuable lessons that include interviewing, photography, technology skills, editing, writing, and interpersonal skills. They also learn responsible journalistic practices.

Tiger Times is the only publication of record for our school.

It helps to create a school spirit and highlights positive activities occurring on our campus. It also informs families and teachers of campus activities.
