Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help us become the best readers possible! In order to do this we need a variety of leveled books in the classroom library.

My wonderful third graders attend a public K-8 school located in New York City.

It is in a high poverty area. Many of the students reside in temporary housing shelters. My students love to come to school. They enjoy listening to stories, reading books and playing with their friends.

My Project

I am in need of leveled library books for third grade. In order for my students to become fluent, lifelong readers, they need reading practice. I need to have a large supply of books on their reading level for them to practice their reading. This will also help them with their comprehension and fluency.

It is so important for my students to become good readers who understand what they are reading and read at a good pace.

In order to do this they need to have a plentiful supply of books.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
