The Sad Truth

My students need 325 t-shirts to ignite passion and school spirit for the annual jog-a-thon.

I am a special education teacher at a title I school. I teach students with special needs from grades K-6.

I recently attended a school function at a more affluent school than ours. The school spirit, plentiful array of hand-outs, freebies and participation from the community was evident. Sadly, our students (due to things out of their control) are not exposed to the luxuries that seem meaningless to others. Our students are so grateful when something as simple as a t-shirt it given to them. Such a small representation (we will get our school logo printed on them) of school spirit is so important to them.

My school is in need of 325 shirts to evoke some school spirit for a school jog-a-thon. These shirts will allow them to get excited about a physical activity such as a jog-a-thon.

Our students, MY students, would wear a shirt that YOU donated with pride and dignity. This will teach them the power of giving and will ignite their passion to do so in return.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
