Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Change is hard. The adjustment from Elementary school to Middle School is monumental! Help me help my students tackle these changes with supplies to keep them organized.

My students are in 8th grade and attend a public school in New York City.

My school is in West Harlem and is almost 100% free lunch which means that it is classified as a high poverty school. The school is a K-8 school which means it mostly functions as an Elementary school, yet my students are going through many changes as they are in Middle School.

My Project

These folders will hold my students papers, homework assignments and writing pieces. If you have ever looked inside the backpack of a teenager, it is quite frightening. My students need these supplies to learn how to organize their work. Each and every day brings it's own challenges, I think that not having a pencil or losing a paper is not a good use of their time or a positive way to start the day. These kids have enough struggles, help them learn that the first step to success is organization!

Middle school is a time of transition.

The students minds,bodies and social life's are constantly changing. Teens often lose sight of priorities because life is simply too stressful with all the change. Help me make life more manageable and calm for my students.
