My Students

My first graders come to school each day with smiles on their faces and a "ready to learn" attitude. The main focus this year has been on creating a classroom community. My students LOVE our morning meeting time. This is a valuable time of greeting one another, sharing, participating in a group activity, and reading a motivational message.

My students have shown resilience during this time of uncertainty and truly LOVE to read.

They impress me each day with their drive to succeed and help their classmates.

My Project

I would love to offer my students flexible seating during their reading group time. Students enjoy listening to books on a CD player or through their iPad. Young learners learn to follow along in a story and develop their listening comprehension skills. The Big Joe Bean Bag Chairs and carpet will allow students to be comfortable while they enjoy a good book! My vision is to create a cozy reading corner for my students. I feel my students will be motivated to want to read in this designated space. Thank you!
