My Students
My students come in with a desire to learn. Giving them more access to technology will open doors to adventures that they will other wise not be able to experience.
In my class, many of the students are growing up in poverty.
This means academically the odds are against them, because they may not have had access to resources needed to develop a solid foundation to be successful learners. Allowing them more access to technology will provide them a foundation to grow on.
My Project
When we get the Chromebooks and wireless headphones, we have the opportunities to place more students in computer station at a time. This will allow them more time and access to some of the wonderful apps that will increase their learning. At this time, our school requires students to spend daily time on IStation. IStation Reading engages prekindergarten students in learning through interactive play.
With the addition of these Chromebooks, students will be able to spend a full 30 minutes a day on this program.
It will also give them time to explore and learn through other apps and web pages.
