Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a very energetic bunch of students who truly love to learn. Their favorite time of day is when they can spend time on school programs on our class laptops. However we only have 3! I want to be able to have more students access these resources in a single day.
My school has a wonderful supportive community full of a variety of backgrounds.
About 50% of our school is on free or reduced lunch. I have 18 wonderful students in my class with a majority of them being Spanish speakers. This requires a lot of differentiated instruction to meet their individual needs while still meeting all grade level requirements.
My Project
My students love when they have computer time, however it is so difficult with only 3 laptops for 18 students. My students have access to variety of online educational content but not enough technology. By having the additional iPads this will allow students to access programs such as i-Ready reading and math, accelerated reader, and a variety of online reading materials. They will also be able to access math games, and learning tools to further instruction and meet their individual needs.
These items will further improve each child's education.
With a variety of learning styles and learning needs having additional technology will allow students the time and resources to use additional educational sites. These sites will allow students to work on individual needs. Students will get additional instruction on top of already having my whole and small group instruction. This will allow them additional time to practice new grade level skills.
