My students need 2 desktop computers. Students are allotted 45 minutes three times a week to work on the computer outside of class teaching time in order to master a skill and move to the next level.

My Students

Before school begins, your teacher is trying to teach you something. Make sure you say Good Morning when you see her, so she will remember that you are present. When she walks into the auditorium looking around, your heart starts to jump.

She’s going to pick me to get on the computer this morning.

That means I get one on one help on the computer. She starts calling names. She only takes two students with her. Let me count again, one, two. She didn't call my name. What happened? We have four computers in the class. It’s usually four people. When the rest of the school is let out of the auditorium you rush to class to see what the problem is that only two students were called. When you get to class, you find out that two of the computers are no longer working. “Call Mr. D, he can fix anything.” All during the day, you are constantly asking if you can get on the computer. Of course you’re not patient and can’t wait your turn, you’re a kid. You want things your way, right then. This is what actually happened. Two of our computers died. Yes, I did call Mr. D., our computer technician. He says that these computers cannot be fixed. Students use a researched based web connected program called “Classworks”.

My Project

Students’ assignments are based on their actual test scores. So what skill one student may be working on another student may not need that skill. The programmed activities are based on the state test students take in May every year. Students are allotted 45 minutes three times a week to work on the computer outside of class teaching time in order to master a skill and move to the next level. Please provide me with two desktop computers, so that my students will be able to continue their reading comprehension practice on the computer. They need to be able to hook to the Internet in order to complete their assignments.

Test scores are the driving forces within school systems these days.

Unfortunately, not all schools have the same resources for students in order to meet the criteria set forth to pass these test. Our school does not have a wireless connection, but we do use all of the resources we have at our disposable in order to help our students make the grade. Thank you for funding this project.
