Have you noticed the amazing changes in technology these days? With all the new and exciting advances, my students are learning how to be good digital citizens as well as the skills they need to be productive and competitive in our digital world. Exposure to digital technology is vital.
All of our wonderfully eager 600+ students come through the computer lab weekly.
The students come from a variety of backgrounds and educational experiences. Our school is suburban with about 40% of students receiving free or reduced priced lunch. There is not one single student who is not ready, willing and eager to learn all they can about technology.
My Project
Each of the 31 classes I teach each week is filled with technology hungry and eager students. Student abilities in technology span from technologically savvy to first time computer users. Some of our students will only have exposure to digital technology via the computer lab and would greatly benefit from exposure to an iPad with Survivor Case. Others would benefit tremendously from an iPad with Survivor Case due to diverse learning styles. Regardless of the reason, student benefits, including growth in technology would be tremendous. Having iPads would also help with a mentoring program I hope to start wherein the more technological knowledgeable students help those with limited exposure to digital devices outside of school.
It is of vital importance that our students become knowledgeable and competitive in a world that is changing almost daily in technological advances.
Regardless of learning style or ability, each student deserves to be provided with the best technology we can possibly give them with which to achieve the savvy skills they need to understand and use technology properly. Our students are the future. Let's provide them with the tools they need to make their future the brightest of all!
