Taking Learning Home

My students need 4 different take-home literature packs that relate to our curricular themes. These materials will allow family members to encourage learning at home.

My Students

Help my students learn to love literature! My student come from homes without much access to children's literate. These take-home packs will allow families to read stories related to our curricular themes and have activities to do to help their children learn.

My students are four and five year olds who attend a public prekindergarten program.

It's a co-taught class for students with and without special needs. Many of my students come from socioeconomically disadvantaged homes without many learning resources available. It's my goal to connect our classroom learning to their home lives through family involvement.

My Project

I am requesting four take-home literature packs that are directly related to some of our prekindergarten curricular themes. These materials will be sent home with students from high poverty homes to allow their families to help them learn beyond the school day. The take-home packs include books and follow-up learning games and activities.

This project is so important because my students need access to quality children's literature and related activities to use at home to promote home to school learning connections.

These take-home packs will help bridge the learning from our classroom to the home setting.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
