My students need take home backpacks to complete our class set of backpacks!

My Students

Last week I was fortunate enough to receive the complete set of 16 take home backpacks. However, next year I will have 21 students. Therefore, I am requesting 5 more take home backpacks so that all students can have backpacks to bring home each weekend!

I teach second grade in California.

My students come from low-income families and do not have many educational resources at home. However, they love to read. This project will give them resources needed at home to have educational fun with their families.

My Project

Take home backpacks will give my students a chance to share stories, writing, and games at home. They will be able to take home a different backpack each weekend. They will learn about topics such as the environment, letter sounds, and even nutrition.

This project is important to close the achievement gap between families that have money for books and games at home, and families that don't.

All students should be able to read at home with their parents no matter what their economic level. Thank you so much for considering this project!
