This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every child should discover the wonder of reading. My students need high-level and engaging literature.

My students are 3rd grade high-ability, ESL, and low-income students.

They work hard and are hungry for challenging literature. They often are not challenged at a high-level due to lack of resources. All the students in this group have been identified as in need of enrichment opportunities.

My Project

By purchasing a group set of Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick, you can get children inspired to read. Students will not only learn about the wonder of reading, but will explore the complex characters, illustrations, and emotions present in the novel. The novel is an intriguing work of art that I know will engage all my students in the group.

This project is incredibly important to me.

These students often do not have a chance for enrichment. With these materials, I can provide a strong enrichment block of instruction to push them to higher-levels of thinking. Every student deserves curriculum that is at their level, no matter where they fall on the academic spectrum.
