Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I like to teach my children that even though they are young they can make a difference and save the world.

My second graders come from very low income houses.

Our school is located in southern Louisiana in a low income neighborhood. My children have big hearts and big dreams, but they all feel too helpless in their society. It is my job to show them that they can change the world around them.

My Project

One way that my children can save the world is by being aware of the world around them and recycle. I am asking for a library of environmentally friendly books to educate my children on ways that they can save the world. In addition I am asking for a recycling sorting activity. These resources will be used within my Science lesson to teach my children that they can be a "Big Help".

By the children participating in these activities students will take responsibility in making this world a healthier and cleaner place.

I feel that the best way to create a better world is by starting with our children
