Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I tell my students every day that their education is the only thing someone cannot take away from them. It is their most precious jewel that they deserve to have. My students are eager to learn and create wrinkles in their brain so they can be critical thinkers and doers.
I have 23 fabulous first graders that come to school eager to learn how to read and master math concepts.
I have a diverse classroom, but we are a family and they love each other, even on our hardest days! My students are smart and funny and they love to tell jokes, play together in centers, and they LOVE technology!
My school is in a very low-poverty area with all of my students receiving free breakfast and lunch. Our school is a Title-1 funded school and most of my students receive English as a Second Language services.
My Project
Every year our students are asked to bring supplies to school but often times they either don't have the money, or they have switched schools many times and end up losing their supplies along the way.
My students need a few more supplies to help us get through the rest of the school year. They use crayons, dry-erase markers, erasers, paper, and glue sticks every day in our classroom. Since we use these items the most, we are down to very little supplies being left and still 12 more weeks of school!
I use the chart paper, copy paper, and colored paper to make anchor charts, center materials, and homework folders for my students each week. These resources are dwindling and we need a few more to help us finish out the school year.
Your donation to this project will help my students continue to learn through centers and small group work.
My students love to cut, color, glue, and show off their work and without these supplies, they won't be able to do that!
This project will continue to encourage my students that their education matters and they can continue to learn without having to worry about not having the supplies they need!
