My students need basic classroom supplies, such as a pencil sharpener, markers, homework binders, headphones and specialized seating to help them be better learners.
My students need basic supplies in our classroom so that they can be successful. They need to have the materials to be organized and feel comfortable to be the best they can be in my classroom.
My students are all from low income families and have a variety of learning disabilities and social/emotional/behavioral challenges that make it challenging for them to be in a larger classroom setting.
Each student has a variety of needs that must be met daily, so it is crucial that I am able to provide my students with all of the accommodations and tools that they need to feel comfortable and be successful in school. Our school is very small and does not receive any additional funding, so all the classroom supplies and materials must be provided by myself. I want to make my classroom as inviting and welcoming as possible so that my students can grow and make progress daily.
My Project
The binders will be used as homework binders, and the markers and pencil sharpeners will be used daily to help keep our classroom a functioning and creative place for my students. The headphones are for the two desktop computers in my classroom that are used daily for reading centers (razkids.com) and one set will be for the classroom iPad. The Hokki stool will be used as a seating accommodation for my students that have difficulty remaining seated and focused during small group instruction.
My students need every accommodation and bit of support that they can receive to help them be successful.
They are facing numerous challenges in all aspects of their life, and I want to ensure that when they come to my classroom that they feel they have everything needed to do the best that they can.
