4th grade teachers seek inspiration for students who are looking to stand on a platform for self-respect, courage and dignity.

Sticks and stones can break my bones, but words hurt even more. Self-esteem and confidence in the classroom are just as important as pens and pencils. Allowing students to seek with-in themselves their self-worth is a difficult task compounded by an inability to afford necessities such as books. We try to instill the notion that if you work hard, plan and build, your dreams can become a reality. That vision must not be prove a lie. Their dreams must be with-in reach if our children are to make an impact in tomorrow's world. Our school tries to not only educate the mind, but cultivate responsible human beings whose contribution to a new world will be their talent, discipline, and integrity. To think, all of this can be enhanced with a book about bullying, self-respect,and courage.

Plain and simple, all we need is 43 copies of 1 book for two 4th grade classes. A book that demonstrates that no matter what adversity you face, you can overcome.

Honestly, the gift of self-esteem and confidence is a gift of a life time. Your contribution isn't a monetary solution, but rather a stepping stone for solving an epidemic that effects children from all caste and classes. It just so happens that children from our community have 2 strikes against them already. I always tell my students to inspire themselves, because nobody else will. Please prove them and me wrong. Please, inspire us.
