STEAM With iPads

My students need an iPad mini, protective case, and warranty for the iPad mini as well as an Apple TV to share their work.

My Students

Every morning, the students arrive to do a quick bell ringer followed by math and our related arts. We are a fine arts school so our students look forward to each school day.

My 31 students are amazing, creative, and energetic individuals.

Many participate in computer club, science club, art club, band, and chorus. They have a love for learning and a passion for the arts. Each one has become very interested in science and math which are key to success in today's world. Our school is one that is very open and accepting of each students' needs, differences, and talents. We are not just a school building, but a family who works, struggles, and most importantly, succeeds together.

My Project

The students have tried using my iPad mini before to create movies, slides, documents, and to research different science and social studies topics. The iPad with case would be an added tool for students to practice and improve their math and science skills using websites and apps in small groups, one-on-one interventions, and whole class projects. Students will use Google Drive, iMovie, Phonto and different web sites to demonstrate their knowledge of science concepts such as biology, ecology, and the solar system as well as comprehension skills, social studies, and writing skills.

By donating to this project, students will have an extra tool to research and practice their skills.

The Apple TV will allow students to share their work with the class to easily demonstrate what they have learned through a more creative outlet. The students will learn valuable skills for this school year, but also skills that will help them as they prepare to become productive members of society such as social skills and technology skills.
